I love to make my own cards and of course search for card making ideas, just like any of you who love to do handmade cards. And as this is a cat website, I figured I might post here my own cat card ideas.
I have to admit I have not had as much time as I would have liked to make my own cards, but it really is a hobby one can do when ever one has an hour or two of spare time. And it is really quite relaxing – when you cut and glue and design your cards, your mind is totally in your project. You have to concentrate on putting that one drop of glue in just the right place… Comparing how each little detail, when put in different places on your card can totally change the feeling and look of your card.
And just like with painting – you have an idea in your mind when you start, and then when you begin working on your card you suddenly notice new ideas popping into your head. So you try new things I did not even think about when you started and the end result can be quite something else than what you originally planned. It really is this surprise element that makes card making so much fun, isn’t it?
And there really is something so satisfying to see a card you made – one of a kind, not a similar one in the world… You want to send such a card to special people.
Some of my friends make their cards only to post to their loved ones, and some are so enthusiastic they bring their cards for sale too – and they always sell. People love the beauty and special feeling of handmade cards.
So here you have some of my card making ideas for cat lovers. I hope they give your creativity a boost.

Kitty Jingle Christmas Card
Here is one of the kitty cartoon character of mine in a Christmassy setting. A Christmas red background, a branch from a Christmas tree, golden stars in the sky...
Follow the making of the card step by step by clicking on the picture of the card.
The idea for this card came when I found a beautiful red maple leaf on the ground. A white cat waiting for a loved one to return.
