gizmo

Gizmo is the most laid back cat in the world. He doesn't move unless forced and the kids can do anything to him. Honestly - if i stuck a broom handle behind him people would mistake him for a mop. One day we went grocery shopping our Giz was lying on the steps. When we got back 3 hours latter he was in the exact same spot, the exact same position. I could have drawn a chalk out line around him. We love our Gizzy!

Gizmo goes to a hoe down
by: Ange-gizmos mom

We recently moved to AB Canada. Of course we took gizmo with us. As usual he walks the kids to and from school. One night the school was having a how down for the kids. We all walked to the school including gizmo. He followed us right to the door and tried to get in. I asked my oldest to run him home but 1/2 way home gizmo bit him so he would drop him, then ran off. My son come back to the school and the hoe down began. It want long before I seen a familiar cat sitting in the door of the gym! I asked my oldest if he had taken him home. He explained what had happened. I had my oldest pick gizmo up and throw him out of the building. When the hoe down was over gizmo was sitting outside in a bush waiting for us then walked us home! Lol

A neighborly visit indeed :)
by: Leena

LOL - well, of course Gizmo wanted to expand his territory, seeing the door open. Went in, inspected the whereabouts of the fridge for future use, and then returned home. Cat logic, I'd say :)

Heehee - I can so imagine the situation. I think our Rolli might do something similar :)

Gizmo obviously likes to travel and see new places.

My first cat, Misu, always jumped to this one basket when she thought it was high time to get out. We always carried her in that basket to the car when we went to the summer cottage. She was allowed to roam free there and loved it. She never ventured far and - having been very much at home during dinner time - was a bit too chubby for long excursions, but she sure loved to travel in the car because it always took her to her favorite place.

Your very own watch cat :)
by: Leena

Well it seems Gizmo thinks he is an equal member of the family. So if you all went for a walk, why would he stay behind? No cat-logic there!

That really is again one good example of how devoted cats can be to their humans. Such a sweet example of this!

A friend of ours (from whom we got one of our cats in the past) lived in the countryside. The mommy of our cat was devoted to my friend's father. She lived in the barn, and each morning came to eat some oatmeal inside the house. After their breakfast the father and the cat went outside and walked side by side to the mailbox, which was about a mile from their house. They would pick the morning paper and again walk back to the house. There they parted, each going to their own work until the next morning when their morning walk was repeated, come rain or shine :)

LOL - the Mop?
by: Leena

Oh you really made me laugh out loud with that mop-expression. Heehee - I can so imagine what you mean :D

Our cats are rather active (two Abys and one Somali), but give them a sunspot and they relax there so totally that I sometimes suspect their bones have melted...

Leena's Books

Tutankhamun

This book travels with the King Tut - Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh exhibition on his world tour of ten cities from March 2018 onwards

Tutankhamun: In My Own Hieroglyphs tells the story, for older children, of the life and afterlife of the famous young pharaoh in his own words. Tutankhamun tells us about the trouble he got into as a child in Akhenaten's palace in the new city of Akhetaten, and how he became a boy pharaoh. As we learn, his life changed a lot when he died as a teenager, and long years of boredom started in his tomb with only his pet monkey Fingers and his treasure for company. He did meet some of the Egyptian gods, of course, and had fun scaring off tomb robbers, but it was mostly rather dull. Then one day, some new and strange people, including a Mr. Howard Carter, arrived and began to take all the treasures out of his royal tomb. Fortunately, through the eyes of his beautiful golden mask, Tutankhamun, could have fun again traveling around the world

Mr Mummific

An ancient friend of mine, Mr Mummific dictated a book about how he became a mummy - and I was his scribe and artist. The book is available at Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk

On my other website www.ancientagypt101.com he continues his stories about life in ancient Egypt.

Another hilarious adventure for children with Mr Mummific, the mummy with attitude. He now tells the story of his mishaps, misunderstandings and misadventures as he leaves his tomb through the False Door to embark on the complicated and dangerous journey to the Afterlife aboard the magnificent Ship of Millions.

The Nephilim Quest Series

The first book in an epic fantasy series based on human mythology. The search for the mythical Watchers, the angels who fathered the Nephilim, the half-angels. A story that moves on three levels - our times, ancient Greece and ancient Egypt.
