I was watching tv one day when this cat jumped the gate I had up at the door cause I have dogs she came in and made it her home. She was pregnant and is a hemingway cat. She had 3 kittens and one of them has the extra toes as well. Before I could have her fixed she now having kittens again. I kept the first 3 she had and tamed 2 other wild cats that showed up. But I live in a rv park so I can't keep all of these new ones. Not sure yet how many she's going to have or how many will have the extra toes. But would like to know more about getting them a good home if she has any. My name is Shelly. I'm really glad I don't have mean dogs cause she just came in and layed down with them. Very brave cat, cause I have 5 dogs.

It seems to me Hemie knew exactly where she was coming to... I sometimes wonder if there is some collective subconscious for animals because I have heard so many stories of someone taking in one feral cat, and then like magic others start arriving too.
I am sure you will have her fixed once the kittens are born. Finding homes for them is another matter - all too often shelters have to put animals to sleep because of lack of space. But kittens usually find homes easier than grown animals. If you do take the trouble of finding them homes, you sure are an angel... You might ask if a local shelter has a foster-home system where volunteers take homeless cats into their homes while they wait for new owners. (It may even be the cat stays with the family. When we gave a foster home to an Aby girl, Bertha, many years back, there was no way we could give her away anymore...
Our cats also love dogs. They grew up to almost one year of age in a family with two Rhodesian ridgebacks and one Saluki, and even though we don't have dogs of our own, every time they see a dog through a window, they start meowing with little friendly meows... Like they miss dogs.
I wish you and Hemie will have a good life together - she obviously chose you and intends to keep you :)
